This is a fantastic building site with a sandy lake bottom and an elevated building site making a walkout basement an option as well as commanding views of the lake. There is a gentle slope from the building site to the water and it has already been partially cleared. Manistique Lake (Big Manistique Lake) is the 13th largest inland lake in Michigan and is renowned for its fishing . At over 10k acres the lake provides relaxing private fishing, paddling, and pontooning even on the busiest days. The lake is mostly shallower with the majority being under 20 feet in depth. This area is also a substantial snowmobile destination as many of the eastern UP snow and ATV trails intersect in Curtis on the south of Manistique Lake. There is stateland within walking distance that also looks to contain excellent waterfowl habitat. This is a great central location for day trips through much of the UP. Seney Wildlife Refuge is just a few miles away. Lake Superior, Lake Michigan, many lakes and streams, trout streams, just 1.5 hrs to St Ignace and the ferrys, Tahquamenon Falls, Whitefish Point, and many other popular sites.
